Emma | 26 Apr 2009
|
Sorry that I haven't been updating, life on the outside has been really busy and my online time has become extremely limited. I really hope to do this site up in the near future since Romola has some fantastic projects lined up.
I've added some on set images of Romola filming Emma which you can view here

Romola as 'Emma' | 04 Apr 2009
|
I'm really sorry about what has happened lately. Mel had done a fantastic job in keeping updates and providing this site with new content and unfortunately we were hacked and so many of the updates were lost. I am so thankful for her help and although she would not want to continue with being co-web I am happy for the help she gave. :) Though I am now on holidays and so hopefully that means I'll be spending more time on the web and hopefully I can be more dedicated to this site. :)
Happy news though that Romola has snagged herself another role as Emma in the upcoming Jane Austen adaption for BBC.
"I'm incredibly excited and honoured to be taking on the role of Emma, who is arguably Jane Austen's greatest heroine. I've loved the book for many years and she is a character very close to my heart - so it's a great privilege to now be playing her"
Exciting news!

Romola leads 1939 | 31 Oct 2008
|
Romola is set for another role where she seems to be leading one of the most epic casts I've seen for a movie.
Principal photography begins on Monday (3 November) on BAFTA-nominated Stephen Poliakoff's (Capturing Mary, Joe's Palace, Gideon's Daughter, The Lost Prince) Second World War thriller 1939.
The feature film will shoot on location in Norfolk and London for six-and-a-half weeks and is a talkbackTHAMES production in association with Magic Light Pictures, funded by BBC Films, the UK Film Council and Screen East.
Award-winning British actress Romola Garai (Atonement) takes the lead as Anne, alongside BAFTA-winning actor Bill Nighy (Notes On A Scandal, Love Actually), who plays her father Alexander. They are joined by Oscar-winning actress Julie Christie (Away From Her, Finding Neverland) who plays the formidable Aunt Elizabeth, Eddie Redmayne (The Other Boleyn Girl) as Anne's brother Ralph and Juno Temple (Wild Child) as their younger sister Celia.
David Tennant (Doctor Who) plays family friend Hector, Charlie Cox (Stardust) stars as Anne's lover Lawrence, Jeremy Northam (Gosford Park) as the shady government operative Balcombe and the legendary Christopher Lee (Lord Of The Rings, Golden Compass) as Walter.

Wow is all I can say, hopefully this'll be the film that will finally launch Romola in the scene.

'The Other Man' Premiere | 19 Oct 2008
|
Romola recently attended the premiere for The Other Man at the BFI London Film Festival. It's been a long while since we've seen her on the red carpet so it's nice to see her again. :) I've added a couple of pictures to the gallery, hopefully more coming soon!
